What you receive:

Access to 2 full semester courses which you can take at your own pace – These courses contain a wealth of information for those who wish to pursue a career in web design. A summary of both courses is presented below.
An enthusiastic and committed instructor to mentor you through the materials – All our instructors have sent multiple years teaching these technologies at the community college or university level. They have also worked in the industry (so they do not have a solely academic focus). Instructors hold WOW certifications.
A subdomain on a server with space to post your examples – this will be your space to use during the entire course. You will not share it with anyone else. At the completion of the course, all examples you have created can be backed up and provided as a zip file or tarball for your reference in the future.
Access to the WOW Certified Associate Web Designer examination upon completion of the courses – Once you have completed both courses, you are eligible to take this WOW certification exam.

Course Contents -
XHTML and Advanced Internet

This course is designed to teach the use of tools available to access information on the Internet and to cover the basic creation of web pages using XHTML. Included in the course are:

methods to access the World Wide Web,
search for information,
use electronic mail,
access news groups,
create web pages using XHTML elements in Notepad, and
transfer files (using File Transfer Protocol).

Hardware and software considerations will be covered. Students will also be exposed to web-based collaborative technologies and will develop a solid understanding of the underlying standards and standards-making committees.

Course Contents -
XHTML and CSS

This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of web page construction. Included in the course are:

methods to create static World Wide Web pages with XHTML and CSS,
methods to develop, deploy, and maintain web sites,
effective web page design,
web site architecture,
fundamentals of web site project management, and
techniques to maintain a web site.
Tools that automate some processes will also be discussed.

Course Environment – Students will have access to:

numerous online examples
an online discussion forum
a wiki with links to various websites and resources
lessons
demonstrations
online quizzes (which can be reviewed after completion)
