This course is designed to introduce the PHP language to web designers. Course participants will have space reserved for them on a class server so they can test their code during class. There will be 2 lab assignments and numerous practice exercises (with solutions available).
Those who successfully complete both lab assignments (and score at least 80% on lessons and quizzes which can be taken multiple times) will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Students who elect not to complete the lab assignments (or take the exams) will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the course.
Objectives: Each participant will:
- Understand the fundamentals of PHP syntax (such as operators, program flow control, string and array manipulation, and interactions with functions).
- Understand the fundamentals of server side scripting.
- Understand the basics of server side form validation and the importance of preventing malicious code from being processed by the server.
